Hello blog/wonderful people, it's been a while, but I have here a few books I've been meaning to write a little bit about for over a month now.. I used to read a lot more when I was younger, I'd like to read more again and I think doing little book posts is a good way to motivate myself to read more and to read different kinds of books.
China Lake, Meg Gardiner
I picked this book up with the intention of trying a to read few more thrillers, the mention of a crazy cult in middle America caught my attention. I actually really enjoyed it, I found that I didn't have any idea what was going to happen and I liked the characters. The suspense is built very skillfully.
My rating 4/5
A Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens
This book I decided to read as I have never read any Dickens. He requires immense concentration. I could read a whole two pages and be like, I have no idea what is happening, I need to read them over again. The first few chapters were very dull but by the time the whole dull description of the carriage and stuff was over I started to get hooked. I then made the mistake of leaving it for a while and when I started reading again I couldn't seem to get back into it, and I eventually abandoned it, for now anyway.. I intend to go back to it at some point in my life.
I know, I know, "Why the heck is it in my recent reads if I didn't read it?" Well, it was in the photo I took for this post and I don't have the other books to take another photo of them.. well I could have cut it out somehow I supposed but photo editing is not my strong point..plus it is a recent read.. I did read about 80% of he way through.. okay I'm sorry.
Can't currently rate.
Infinite Days, Rebecca Maizel
This book I won't lie I picked up and read mostly because of the pretty cover. It was sadly too teen for me. It was an interesting read though, for a vampire story. I really didn't like the main character for most of the book but I did warm to her somewhat at the end. It's been over a month since I read it now though and I can't actually remember what the ending was.. so it's forgettable..
I should have written this sooner..
My rating 2/5
These are terrible book reviews, I know, I've linked the books to good reads so you can read some other reviews of them.
I have prattled on a bit.
What are you reading at the moment?
Leave me any nice autumn/winter book recommendations you have below.
